Oooh I am so excited about this week’s Mason Jar Terrarium Tutorial – always fancied a mini garden in a jar? Well now is your “chance” to learn “how to”… It is a guest post from the gorgeous Jamie from Scissors & Steam. I have been wanting to make Terrarium with the children for a few weeks now. Red Ted is so interested in nature and how things grow, that I thought he would really enjoy one of these indoor mini gardens. Especially, as winter drags on a little longer! ...

Our playdate was cancelled, so me made some Yoghurt Muffins. This is a GREAT recipe for young children, as they can help you measure and pour and stir.

Use your yoghurt pot as your measuring device!

1 pot of yoghurt (any flavour)**
3/4 pot sunflower oil
1 pot caster sugar
3 pots self raising flour
1 egg
1 pot frozen fruit

**PS although the exact quantity in the yoghurt pot doesn’t matter, please not that the average UK pot is 125g… so… should yours be 250g or more, just make sure you amend the rest of the ...

Welcome back to Kids Crafts and this week’s cardboard tube robot!! I am a huge huge HUGE fan of cardboard tubes.. mainly because we have them in abundance in our house (*cough* I blame the Englishman).
We actually made this robot last year and it forms part of my Time On Your Hands ebook. But I decided to share him with you today. This little guy has once again inspired hours of fun in our house. Which is great for those long long holidays. He also forms part of our home made ...

Aaah look… the kids painted their very special PiggyBankKids piggy banks! (I only helped with the eyes and varnished them). They are learning all about saving and pennies…

Proud to be supporting PiggyBankKids this year. Stop by, take a look and see the very important work they are doing with supporting children – right from the beginning in their pregnancy research to the very end with young people needing a helping hand.

Well… I think any self respecting Kids Craft blog should have a salt dough recipe, a play dough recipe and a finger paint recipe! Not actually having ever made finger paint myself yet, I set out to find a lovely Guest Blogger to do just that for me. And I found the gorgeous Tiffany from Easie Peasie and am SO pleased to have her visit us today! Firstly, isn’t that the most gorgeous photo of Tiffany? Not only does Tiffany create fabulous craft posts for you or your child, but ...

I made this reward chart about 18 months ago, if not longer…. and I have sent pictures of it to friends over time. I decided I should really do a “quick craft post” for you! I made it in less than 10 minutes from things around the house:

All I did was cut out rectangles, squares and triangles and 5 bunnies. I stuck the side of rectangle down, so the bunny slots in (see white marks):

When Red Ted is good, he gets one bunny “from the boat” and it goes in ...

Well.. today we deWelcome back to today’s Kids Crafts! Today, we have a super duper simple craft, but it is one that my children never tire of.. Stone Monsters!! Nice and easy and lots of fun! They are tactile, bright and suitable for all ages to have a go (just moderate what paint you use). This is also a VERY special Kids Crafts post, as I am sharing this with the crazy and adorable lady over at Mammasaurus.

Did you know that it is Energy Saving Week? I know there is always a “week this and a week that”, but as you may know from The Good Life Bloggers I am big into saving energy. Mainly for environmental reasons, but also because it actually saves you money too. Why use something up and pay for it that you don’t need?!
As a parent, I feel I have the responsibility to educate my children about how the world works. What is energy? Where does it come from? What impact does it ...

Welcome back to week 2 of “Planting Creative Seeds” – a collaborative effort between Alissa fromCreative With Kids and I. Planting Creative Seeds is a challenge to spark up your creativity – be it for yourself or with your children.
Recap – Planning
Last week, we challenged you to think about what you would like to do more of and how you may go about achieving. We called it the “planning stage” and had a lovely number of posts link up, as well as dicussions on Facebook and Twitter.
