Photo Santa Ornament craft for Kids

I love this keepsake photo ornament craft, as it really only uses some basic supplies – paper and cotton wool and hopefully you have these to hand at home already. They are super fun to make and even more fun to cherish!! And who doesn’t love a fun Santa Craft this time of year?!
Supplies needed for your Santa Photo Ornament
- A photo of your little one
- Paper/ Construction paper/ Card in black and red
- Cotton wool
- Scissors
- Glue
- Ribbon for hanging

Prepare your photo
Begin by preparing your photo – as this will determine the size of your final paper globe ornament!
Cut the basic globe shape
Using your cut out photo as a guide, cut out a balck circle (or dark blue works nicely too). Check your photo fits in nicely with some room at the top for a Santa Hat!
Make the Santa features
Cut out a simple Santa Hat and “Body” in red. If it is easier for you, focus on basic shapes – such a rectangle for the santa body (you can make a simple triangle cut in it for the child’s chin) and a triangle for the santa hat!
Check that the hat and santa coat fit. And glue in place.
Have fun with Cotton Wool
Now have fun with cotton wool.
This is a nice sensory exprience, as you will need to pull the cotton wool a part a little.
You can have fun with Santa’s beard and even add eye brows if you wish! Both look great!
Finally, add some cotton wool finishing touchese, like a snowy “base” for the snowglobe and some cotton wool snowflakes.
Add a hanging ribbon
All that is left to do, is to add your hanging ribbon or baker’s twine:
Make a hole at the top of your Santa Globe Ornament with a hole punch. Thread through the ribbon and knot off!
You super fun Photo Santa Ornament is finished. How cute is this? Now the only question is how many to make for friends and family! I am SURE the grandparents would love one too!
