Easy Paper Turkey Finger Puppet for Preschool
A super cute quick and easy Paper Turkey Craft for kids for you today! I love that you can make these adorable Paper Turket Finger Puppets from scraps of paper (even use brown packing paper, if you don’t have “brown paper” for the turkey’s body – or use white paper and colour it in with felt tips). Not only is it quick.. of course cute, but also low mess. I think you AND the kids will love it! This joins the ranks of our Turkey Crafts for Kids, where you will find some great turkey crafts including our favourite Turkey Corner Bookmark, Egg Carton Turkey Treat Boxes and a wonderful Turkey Paper Quilling project!
And because I am always looking for nice “uses” for our crafts, I think these little Paper Turkeys would look great as pencil toppers too (tape the bottom together a little to fit around a pencil) or could be used as Turkey place markers at a Thanksgiving Dinner!
Paper Turkey Finger Puppet – Materials
- Brown paper (enough to wrap around your finger and poke up out of the top)
- Scrap paper in yellow, orange and red
- Googley eyes (optional! You can draw and cut out eyes on paper too)
- Glue stick, tape
How to make a Paper Turkey Finger Puppet with preschool
Begin by rolling your brown paper into a cylinder and taping. sticking in place – if you are working with “small fingers”, do make sure the tape doesn’t show around the edges…
Shape the top of your paper finger puppet by flattening it a little, turning down the corners and then folding over. Secure in place with tape!
Cut out your turkey’s features, you will need a beak, wattle, feathers and eyes (if not using googly eyes).
Glue on your features and feathers.
As mentioned, these would look adorable as Paper Turkey Pencil Toppers too – simply add a little tape to the “left and right” at the bottom to secure around the pencil (maybe add some paper feet to hide the tape) and your done.
You could also use these Paper Turkey as Turkey Place Settings or just little Paper Turkey Decorations!
