Cute Sheep Basket Template - Red Ted Art

Now, you have probably already spotted these as part of our sets of Easter Basket Printables. I did however want to share these again, for two reasons – one, sometimes things get “lost” as part of bigger projects or bundles and two, though they are of course perfect for spring and Easter, these little Sheep Basket Printables, would also be lovely as an Eid al-Adha Craft! As you know, I have expanded on my islamic crafts and though Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr are already “covered”, Eid al-Adha is not so much.

Let’s make some Sheep Gift Baskets!

There are two versions of this simple (but hopefully, you will agre, cute!) Sheep Gift Basket Template – there is the white sheep – that you can leave white, colour in or print onto colourful card and there is a black face sheep – that again, you can leave as is, colour in some more and print onto card! Ha! 🙂

I hope you like both options.

As mentioned they are great for different occasions and festivities – be it a simple farmyard party favour, a spring or Easter craft or of course perfect as little Eid Al-Adha Gifts too!

Supplies needed to make your Paper Easter Baskets

Light cardstock is ideal, though printer paper is “ok” too. If you are using light card stock, you can print straight onto colored card too. This little Sheep Basket especially will look great printed onto pastel colors such as lilac, yellow, blue and pink!
A pair of scissors
A glue stick
Crayons, coloring pencils, pens or watercolors if using the Basket as Coloring Pages!
Fun Gift Basket Fillers: shredded paper is a great base for your Eid gift, then add small chocolate or other candy and treats

How to make an easy paper Sheep Basket with printable template

Again.. as this is part of my Easter Basket craft.. I am “boring” the step by step photos for assembly from that post. I hope that is ok!

As mentioned previously.. decide if you want to print your basket templates onto full color or white paper! Even on full color paper, you can still add details in a darker shade pen. E.g. you can color in the sheep’s “hair piece” in a darker shade to the rest of the body.

Take your time and enjoy coloring in the coloring pages. Explore different mediums if you wish. You can even add stickers too!

Once you are ready, carefully cut out the basket template. You will need the main body of the basket and the handle.

Make neat folds along the basket lines.

Add glue to the tabs on the sides of the basket. I find it easier to add all the glue first and then bring the sides together to make your little box.
