St Patrick’s Day Activities for Preschool
We have shared some Patrick’s Day Crafts for kids of all ages before! But sometimes it is nice to see JUST the Preschool Craft Ideas. Working with preschoolers is so much fun and young children just adore getting stuck in, but they do need a different set of St Patrick’s Day Activities.
This is collection is aimed at toddlers, kindergarten and preschooles! But to be honest, I do feel kids of ages can enjoy them too. Afterall, who doesn’t love exploring the end of the rainbow, find little leprechauns or exploring shamrocks and four-leaf clovers?
Shamrocks Ideas for Preschoolers
Let’s begin this collection of Preschool St Patrick’s Day Activities with some Shamrocks! Remember, Shamrocks have 3 leaves and not 4 like a lucky clover. A bit confusing really.. but there you go.. Three it is!
A wonderful Shamrock Craft for preschoolers – yarn wrapped Shamrocks – super easy and fun to make!
Textured Shamrock Activity! A wonderful sensory activity, but also a great way to rummage through all the odds and ends of your craft stash – a great way to use up odds and ends such a pom-pom or two and some glitter! Hop over to No Time for Flashcards for more inspiration and information on this fun craft.
Paper Plate Tambourines (so cute!) love those golden coin shakers! You can also “close” these tambourines up, by using a hole punch and yarn and turning this into a fabulous fine motor skills activity too! Love that these are filled with some gold coins – though they can be filled with colourful beads too or using dried peas and rice for different sounds. Such a fun idea!
St Patrick’s Day Lacing Cards
Or how about our cute designs turned into St Patrick’s Day Lacing Cards for Preschoolers? A wonderful fine motor skills activities for toddlers and preschool children. There is one you can currently download for free here, Hopefully, I will be able to provide ALL of these as a freebie very soon (I often do a week of freebies for Red Ted Art readers – so be sure to sign up to my newsletter so as to not to miss out! Orange sign up box on the right hand side of this post!).
Have a go at our Pop Art Shamrock coloring pages – they come as full page coloring or as greeting cards and in two different detail sizes, so you can work on this with different age groups!
Another super cute and easy craft – how about making paper Shamrock Man / Shamrock Puppet? Lots of fun from The Resourceful Mama! These are fun to play with, but would also make great classroom wall decor too! And all you need is some white and green construction paper! You could maybe even make the arms using a pipe cleaner or two!
Kiddos will love making this, adorable Shamrock Finger Puppet. A super quick and cute craft for Toddlers to make this St. Patrick’s Day. Hop over to I Heart Crafty Things for more! Another simple paper craft to make for this holiday season!
Play dough is SUPER EASY to make and much better than making slime. Both are great sensory activities for Preschoolers and encourage fine motor skills development. But play dough is much much better for the environment, as generall is made from natural materials. So though I appreciate that some pot of gold slime may be super tempting and “fun” to make, I always encourage the use of playdough instead. Let’s look after our planet a little.. especially when two activities are as fun as the each other, but one is more eco friendly! About a Mom, uses classic eco friendly play dough ingredients here.
