Crafty Jellyfish Ideas
I confess, I haven’t put this collection of jellyfish crafts into any particular order, but I do feel there is something for everyone from your preschooler jellyfish craft, to jellyfish DIYs for your tween!

Bubble Print Jellyfish Art with Template
This bubble print craft is a great craft for the summer months.. make your own bubble mixture, then use it to make wonderful bubble prints. Then use the free templates to turn your prints into fantastic Jellyfish Art. Love the mix media approach by adding textures ribbons and cut offs!
This would be great activity for practicing those scissor handling skills when cutting out the circle and jellyfish templates!

Jellyfish made with coffee filters or cupcake liners
Continuing with the “watery” art theme.. how about making some of these fab coffee filter jellyfish! We love working with coffee filters – as they are great medium for exploring color theory and color mixing. There are two ways – the pen then water way… and the water color way. Both are fantastic! My top tip – stick to two primary colors and their derivatives (e.g. yellow, blue and green or red, blue and purple, or yellow, red and orange) to avoid brown sludges! Though of course if you child WANTS brown.. go for it! Here is a great coffee filter jellyfish by Super Simple or Tippy Toe Crafts – love the diy ribbons added (that we have included in our coffee filter crafts collection before). You could switch the coffee filters for cupcake liners if you want to make smaller versions!

Super simple Handprint Jellyfish Art
J is for Jellyfish! The perfect easy peasy handprint craft for our preschoolers. This makes a lovely keepsake art project too. So fun! It is part of our complete Animal ABC handprint series. Love the fun little googly eyes, though these days, I would probably “make” some paper googly eyes for this craft (eco friendlier and just as cute!). A wonderful way to make a keepsake with your preschooler’s little hands. Too cute.

Paper Plate Jellyfish Craft
No jellyfish activities collection would be complete without a paper plate jellyfish! There are LOTS of different types of paper plate jellyfish you can make! I love this super colourful Paper Play Jellyfish by Arty Crafty Kids! The colours are so happy and I just love the ribbon tentacles!

Paper Bowl Jellyfish
Paper Bowls also make a great jelly fish craft! They have that jellyfish like shape and you can combine it with curling ribbon, regular ribbons, yarn or crepe paper ribbons. Natural Beach Living shows us how quick and easy they are to make. Love the decoupage approach (great for fine motor skills and practicing using scissors again), but you can also go wild with paints and colours.

Carboard Tube Jellyfish
I love these cardboard tube jellyfish (or toilet paper roll jellyfish) by Buggy and Buggy. Not only are they easy to make.. but older kids can have a go at doodle decorating some lovely details. Such a fun way to get younger and older kids crafting together! A great way to really explore your creativity. I love the two toned jellyfish tentacles too!

Recycled Egg Carton Jellyfish
Another fabulous recycled jellyfish craft, are these super cute Egg Carton Jellyfish by Ey to Zee. Here the tentacles are made using long strips of crepe paper, but again, you can use yarn, ribbons or whatever you have to hand. I have seen some cute pony bead jellifish tentacles too!

Suncatcher Jellifish
I Heart Arts N Crafts has this beutiful Jellyfish Suncatcher for you to try. How cute is this? All you need is some black construction paper, some colourful tissue paper squares and some contact paper. Fun!

Learn to Crochet Jellyfish Pattern
Working with older kids? Wht not learn how to crochet. I would say the “ideal” age to learn to crochet is 10 years upwards (obviously, younger kids can try too, but from our exprience learning to crochet is best for tweens and teans!). And then have a go at this wonderful free Jellyfish Crochet Pattern.
I hope you will have lots of Jellyfish Fun too! I think it is such a great ocean craft and the perfect fun summer craft to make throughout June, July and August!
